bow ties and racquetball...

now, i'm not saying that i am ahead of my time because i don't think i am .  but, i am.  or am i?  who wears a bow tie anymore?  who, other than your dad and your dads weird friends play racquetball?  i do.  i do and so does my friend chris.  chris is 25 and he thinks that racquetball is the bees knees.  that's right, the bees knees.  i'm bringing that back.  did it ever go any where?  don't know.  don't care.  it's part of my every day.  common place.  as common as katy perry on 101.1 in chicago.  that's pretty darn common place.  today, chris straight whooped me 3 games in a row and that ain't right.  i'm not used to losing to him.  sure, he's doing p 90 x, but come on.
right now, my wife is asleep on the couch and dr. phil is on.  he's on only because i haven't gotten up to turn the channel back to sportscenter.  getting up now.  for real.  wish i had an hd flip to chronicle said get up.  that would be cool.  can't wait to get one when i win this campaign.
okay, back to chris whippin' me.  it sucked.  real bad.  but, hey, i'll get him next time.
who wears a bow tie?  yep, my old g.m., chuck wore a bow tie.  looked good.  he is a strange fellow and i thought it might only work with his kind.  his kind being a strange kind.  found out last month i can pull it off too.  looks good.  in fact went to nordstrom rack and straight picked one up.  red and black.  looks good with a light grey suit.  lucky that is the only color of suit i own.  i have one of them.  suits that is.  i now have 2 bow ties in regular rotation.
my point is, pop culture is what you think it is. in different circles it is l.a.r.ping.  in other circles it is going to cubs games just to go to say you went.  it is definitely katy perry and bieber, but it is also racquetball and soccer.  look outside and you will see it.  it is keeping all 50,000k for your own or donating to a worthy charity.  it is diversity and empathy.  it is dogs, cats and whales.  it is a bumper sticker stating that you believe in something.  pop culture is faith in believing what the masses, whether that be 5 or 5,000,000 people, believe in.  it's up to you to believe in what you want to believe in.

i believe that i will be the best v.p. of pop culture because i love racquetball and wear a bow tie.
